Oh you guys-- thank you (thank you!) for all the love and support and wet mortar to take the brick(s) and build a beautiful archway into new beginnings.
Sometimes the biggest setbacks (or at least the most painful) can turn out to be huge blessings in disguise. Not to sugarcoat the experience in any way-- but simply knowing I am on strong, new ground due to this life lesson has got me shaking my head in wonder at it all.
Had a most marvelous weekend of PLAY! and an introduction to Newport that could not have been sweeter-- wowza what a site for the festival-- a peninsula of rolling green hills surrounded by ocean (on the penultimate summer day of blue skies and sunshine, with a big fat sea breeze steadily caressing us). People in boats of every size and shape (yachts, motor boats, sailboats, kayaks) anchored in a semi-circle on the water and bobbed along to the music.
It was super fun. Am thinking this was my favorite song:
We rocked to this song! Dancing in the fields, in the sun-- I was pretty mesmerized by the young goddesses of long curly hair and wild skirts shaking it out-- beauty incarnate.
Thea and Trey began their trek home this morning with a last stop at the beach . . I couldn't join them, alas-- back to work-- but oh, sweet summer weekend.
